IT Management Leader with a Focus on Sensitive IT Environment

Do you want to work with secure and robust IT in a vital public sector and contribute to Sweden's preparedness? The Swedish Food Agency has an extended responsibility as a preparedness authority within the food sector and is now looking for an IT Management Leader with a focus on sensitive IT environments and preparedness. The role suits you who want to combine management with work in environments where security, reliability, and continuity are central requirements.

Your Role

As an IT Management Leader, you play an important role in the management and development of systems, environments, and IT infrastructure used in sensitive operations. The role primarily focuses on managing secure IT environments, protected systems, and related infrastructure, as well as representing the IT unit in the Swedish Food Agency's preparedness and continuity work.

In addition, the role should help relieve IT operations by supporting infrastructure management, investigations, assignments, and improvement work. This includes contributing to increased order, structure, and clarity within the infrastructure area as a whole.

You are responsible for leading and coordinating the management within your area of responsibility through structured planning, prioritization, and follow-up. The work is done in close collaboration with the business, IT operations, IT security, information security, security functions, architecture, and external suppliers.

The role combines strategic responsibility with operational presence and includes, among other things, that you:

  • lead the management of classified and protected systems, including lifecycle management, roadmap, and priorities
  • contribute to ensuring that business requirements, protection levels, and regulations are translated into appropriate technical solutions
  • support IT operations by leading or coordinating investigations, assignments, and improvement initiatives within the infrastructure area
  • produce analyses, decision-making materials, management plans, and reports
  • monitor the threat landscape, regulations, standards, and technological developments within secure IT and infrastructure

Together with your colleagues, you take responsibility for the organization's common tasks and resources as well as the needs of target groups. Furthermore, you make thoughtful priorities in your work and deliver according to set goals. You monitor the environment to gather new perspectives, maintain relevant competence, and adapt your work to the organization's requirements and conditions.

Unit for Digitalization and IT

The position is placed in the Management and Project team, where you work together with IT management leaders, project managers, and IT security specialists. The team currently consists of 8 people.

Together, the team leads the work of designing, realizing, and managing system support that creates the greatest possible benefit for the organization while meeting high demands for security, robustness, and preparedness.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in IT, systems science, or equivalent, or other education combined with relevant work experience for the role.

It is expected that you have experience working in environments with high demands for information and/or cybersecurity. You also have an understanding of regulations and requirements related to secure IT within public operations or similar regulated environments. Furthermore, you have a good ability to work with governance, planning, and prioritization within IT management, as well as a natural interest in technology and a basic understanding of IT infrastructure.

It is considered an advantage if you have experience in managing IT infrastructure or equivalent areas, have worked with protected or classified IT environments, and have experience with preparedness, continuity, or crisis management related to IT.

The role requires excellent knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Your Personal Qualities

To succeed in your work, you act responsibly, collaboratively, and developmentally. You are solution-focused and invite and are open to collaborations and new perspectives that improve our deliveries. You enjoy working in teams and are open to new ways of working while sharing knowledge and lessons to strengthen our collective ability.

You have high integrity, work in a structured manner, and have the ability to make decisions and drive issues forward even in complex and security-critical contexts. You are a clear communicator who can explain complex issues in an understandable way for different target groups.
